Air Brush Compressor

Folks, I would not want you to think that I am an air brush artist. I am not, even though I wish I had even a tiny bit of the artist's skills that air brush artists use when they create their art masterpieces with their air brushes and air brush compressor.I do, however, know quite a bit about air compressors, and I get a fair number of questions about air brush compressors and equipment on my compressed air web site. So, I thought I'd move those questions relating to air brush compressors and air brush painting to this page, to centralize them, for the benefit of all air brush artists looking for information or solutions for their air brush compressed air equipment comments or questions.

An invitation to post a compressed air - air brush question is just below.

And, at the end of this page are the questions, answers and contributions from other air brush artists like you. It would be great if you could offer advice, or help solve some of the problems that other airbrush artists have with their equipment by posting a comment on the information you see.

All new postings will be live on the forum for about a week to allow the original poster and others to comment. After that, if the content is relevant, I will move the post to below the form.. The posts will be numbered. If you then wish to add a comment or question to one of the existing posts below, do use the form, but please identify your post with the number shown in the original so I can match the new with the old. I am told that adding posts in this way will help improve the SEO for this site. I hope so. It adds a lot of work for me, I'll tell you.

Thanks,

Bill

Repair Compressor Model TC-20T

Entry #012 TC-20T mini-air compressor

Question: My oil less airbrush compressor over heated after an hour of use and it will not start back up. I'm assuming I burnt out the motor because the thermal sensor did not shut off the compressor before it over heated, if it did it would have turned back on later. Do you have any ideas on how to repair it? what should I look for once I take it apart? and any ideas on how to extend the time I have to use the compressor continuously between rest periods? Thanks for your help, Robert

Response: Robert, your air compressor comes with a two year warranty, so, if the failure is within this time frame, get a warranty repair or replacement. When you were using it, did you have it plugged in with an extension cord? If so, you may have been under powering the motor, this makes them run too hot, and may have contributed to your compressor problem. The specifications also say "Thermally Protected: Automatically turns itself off if the unit becomes over heated" and based on what you write, this did not happen, and you may have damaged the motor. Unless you are an electric motor repair person, if this were me, I would remove the motor, take it to a motor shop, and ask them to test it. If it were the motor, I would weigh the cost of a new motor against the cost of a new compressor.

Airbrush compressor AS-196 problem

Entry #011 AS-196 mini-air compressor

Question: I just bought a compressor but for some reason it seems to not be working right! at the beginning, everything was fine but about 10 minutes of be using my airbrush it started to sound like if the compressor was releasing lots of air from where I believe is the solenoid valve. the pressure can't hardly gets up;however, when I close the hole (the Solenoid valve)with my finger and the air can't go out, the pressure star raising again! I hope you can help me with my problem!!! thanks

Response: Ali, I think, from what you have written, is that you have air bleeding out of the unloader valve, and that is a symptom of a bad check valve. See Check Valve from the site map page to read about what they are and what they do, and see if that helps.

Your compressor is a Chinese import, supplied by Fenghua Bida Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd. Website: www.allproducts.com/manufacture100/bida/Product-2007101113223.html. The actual manufacture appears to be Ningbo Haosheng Pneumatic Machinery Co., Ltd. You can, perhaps, contact them directly for technical assistance.
