Ahhh 20/9 unloader valve problem

shhh 20/9 unloader valve

Hi I have a shhh 20/9 compressor and there seems to be a problem with the brass tube located under the main switch

I am unsure of the name of the part and require some clarification on its name some call it a relief valve and some call it a uploader ?

It's about 3" long and is brass and has a black plastic pipe connected via the bottom and another located by the top via a small threaded brass fitting.

unloader

Well, if you've looked at the explanations, they are related in that the pressure switch turns the motor on/off, and when it turns off, it generally opens a valve somewhere between the check valve and the compressor head(s) so the pump can restart with minimal load.

Some don't even have a valve, but a permanent small vent that leaks all the time, but not so much as to prevent pressure in the tank. Again, that's before a check valve at the tank.

Thanks guys
Yes the manual is very vague
All the air comes out of the relief exhaust pipe if you block that pipe the tank will build pressure ?

I am still trying to work out how these compressors work I have a feeling there may be 2 faults !

Would I be correct in thinking the pressure relief has something to do with turning off the motor when full pressure has been reached ?

Unloader problem

If your compressor fails to build pressure, yet is pumping air into the tank, and air is leaking from the unloader valve, it's not the unloader that is the problem, but the tank check valve.

If your unloader has failed, you can replace it, and the pressure switch, relatively inexpensively with a non OEM switch.

What to look for in a new switch is covered on a number of locations on the pages of this site.

Apparently, it's a combo pressure switch/unloader, but it's hard to tell from the skimpy manual.

Have you contacted Clarke?

Hi the small pin located inside has a small bit of it Broken off
The top and bottom of the pin is sort of tapered and it's the bottom tapper has broke the compressor runs but 99 percent of the time fails to build up pressure

I think it is the unloader valve.

What is the problem with it?
