MY 5HP. SINGLE PHASE 220 AIR COMPRESSOR SHUTS OFF AFTER A FEW MINUTES.THE RESSET BUTTON KICKS OUT LET COOL DOWN BUT SAME THANG HAPPENS.DID NOT SMELL ANYTHANG.

Hello Robert. The motor is going off on thermal overload because it's getting too hot.

Reasons why that is happening is that the motor is seeing too much load.

That could be a failing motor, a voltage supply issue, mechanical failure in the compressor, etc.
