Abbott Compressor Labours and doesnt cut out.

I have an old Abbott compressor. It has been unfortunately a bit neglected. Recently it has started to labour at the last part of its cycle.

It used to cut out at about 600psi in the tank. However now it is starting to struggle at about 400psi up to the point where the electric motor starts to stall.

Howdy Matt. It could be many things causing your motor to labour and stall. I don't know how old your compressor is, but you suggest she has a few years on her. That being the case, and assuming nothing untoward is happening mechanically, then I'd get a capacitor and motor load test to be sure that they are up to snuff.

Cheers,

Bill
