A lot of miss information, cfm of air eqivilant to gpm for blowing out pipes and sprinklers?

In purchasing a compressor to blow out pipes and sprinkler systems , the comparison of cfm to gpm is a question always asked, what size compressor do in need? In the past it has been said that a 2:1 ration cfm to gpm is min rating. There is always friction losses in the length of the pipes and the mains. No real number has ever given.

Hello Robert. While the info was on the site map page before, I've rearranged it so that it is under the category Sprinkler Related Issues.

Go there and follow the links for some "real numbers".

Cheers,

Bill
