921.164710 fills up to about 50 PSI and completely bogs down

I've had this compressor for a while and it's been a camp. I go to use it today and it fills up to about 50 PSI and completely bogs down, I start trying to troubleshoot and here's what I come up with.

If I take the finned output tube lose or the small tube going into the switch the motor runs like it always has.

As soon as I hook it back up it bogs down again.

I took the check valve lose from the tank and left everything else hooked up and it done fine.

As soon as I screw the check valve back in and everything is hooked up again it bogs down again.

I have no clue what else to check or what the problem might be. Any suggestions?

This *could* be a pump problem, but I'm inclined to think it's the motor.

Please do the checks here:

I suspect you'll wind up with a bad run capacitor, but best go through the steps to be sure we're not overlooking something.

Post back whatever you find, please.

Good luck.
