921.153101 regulator will not engage threads

All of a sudden, the regulator knob on my 921.153101 will not engage the threads. It was working up until yesterday. I try to push the knob toward the regulator body and turn it clockwise to engage the threads on the regulator body but nothing happens. Is there a procedure I am neglecting? I've never had this type of issue before. Can the regulator knob threads strip?

Replace the regulator and that'll prove the point as to whether it's the regulator adjustment or the diaphragm.

On Amazon they are available for $15 or so.

Hello. I think my regulator is bad. Based on the comments above, i'd like to note that the adjustment rings on the regulator are plastic, so of course it seams like they are stripped. The larger black one is definitely stripped. The problem I am having is that the tank pressure and the hose pressure are always the same. When I adjust the pressure, the air comes out at the regulator, but both gauges decrease at the same time. I'd like to get your opinion on this.

Can the regulator knob threads strip? Yes, but not easy to do and I suspect that you'd know if you'd done so.

Did you try pulling out on the regulator knob.

If that doesn't work, I suspect it's time to replace the regulator.
