919.167340 gets hot

Pretty much all compressors, when run for a short while, get pump head temperatures too high to touch, and the outlet tube to the tank gets too hot to touch too.

That your 919.167340 experiences this is not abnormal.

When you say "when you cut it on it runs for a couple minutes" how long is this, and what is the pressure in the tank when the compressor stops?

In other words what's stopping the compressor? Is it that the tank reaches cut out and the pressure switch trips off, or is it that the motor is overheating and going off on thermal?

More information here, please Robbie.
