6 gallon Bostitch pancake compressor burning belts

My 6 gallon pancake compressor keeps burning up belts after only a few min of use.

The alignment is good and I don't see any tension issues, belts were new and hard to install.

Any ideas on where to look next.

When it runs prior to the belt breaking everything works great .

Is it burning through in one spot, or is along the length of the belt? Can you post pix of the belt(s)?

If the belt is breaking, and the tension and alignment is good, one of the sheaves the belt is installed on is either not turning, or not turning fast enough.

With the belt off, tank empty of air, try to hand-turn the sheaves to determine is there is binding.

Please let us know your findings.
