55151 type 3 keeps tripping the thermal overload.

Have a Dewalt 55151 type 3. Builds pressure to about 60 psi quickly (about 15 seconds) then dies.

The fuse is out but stays "floppy" for a while.

You can cycle thru on/off a few time (probably the wait) but eventually the fuse will stiffen and you can press it back in and the compressor builds up again then repeats.

The head feels hot but maybe that's just me.

The compressor is 6 months old and been used 3/4 times for about an hour each.

55151 type 3 tripping overload

A new problem or always been there?

How long is the extension cord you are using?

What is the amperage of the breaker of the socket you plug the compressor into?

If a new problem, is it taking longer to get to the 60 PSI point than normal?
