50 ltr compressor takes a long time to start

hi my compressor takes a long time to start after i pull the red button up it hesitates for ages then shuts off then trys to run again have you any ideas please

Dave, a 50 ltr compressor refers, I suspect, to the tank size. It is always useful when trying to help someone diagnose a compressor problem, to know the HP, make and even the model of the compressor.

I am afraid that I do not know what the red button is that you refer to. Is it on the pressure switch, or is it a ON/OFF button, or, is it, a reset switch?
