5 hp northstar wont start

by Nick
(Minnesota)

Hi

my air compressor has a 220 and i have tested and know i have 110(both sides of the pressure switch) running through the pressure switch. Is there any diagnosis i can do inside the motor

its a 5hp century ac motor Cat B182

thanks for any help you can give

Bill says...

Nick, are you saying that the motor is 220 Volts? I'm not quite sure.

The last time it reached cut-out pressure, did the compressor unload?

When the pressure in the tank drops below the cut in pressure, what happens? Does the pressure switch try to engage.

A bit more info would be useful.

Thanks,

Bill
