3Z355J auto shut off/on switch is broken

The auto shut off switch has broken and I can not find a replacement assembly on the internet.

I am not sure if a spring has broken inside or what happened.

It is an older 3Z355J and has worked well for many years. To use it now I have to plug it in and then unplug it when the pressure has built up. Thanks

Todd, you don't have to use the original pressure switch (I hope that's what you mean by the auto shut off switch) as long as the replacement you get fits your compressor, has the same interface for the unloader valve, has close to the same cut in and cut out pressure settings (or is adjustable) and handles the voltage of yours.

I have recently added a compressor and parts store where I have taken the time to source a variety of compressors and compressor parts to help folks like you get their air compressors back up and running. Have a look at that, and then add a comment here if you have any questions.

Pressure switch options
by: Todd

Bill,
Thanks for your response. Do you mean that I need to buy a whole assembly with a knob for controlling the pressure setting that has the electrical controls in it as well? I cant just replace the electrical switch portion? Thanks

Hey Todd, why not start a new thread, and add a photo of the part you are talking about so I can be sure that you and I are talking about the same Speedaire air compressor part?

You can upload up to to four photos, so do that if you would.

I have a 3Z394 speedaire and I need some parts in order to restore this vintage model. Where and who can I contact for advisement.

Some parts don't have to be OEM, some do.

You don't indicate what parts so it's hard to offer any specific advice.

Check with Grainger first.

Then search for the part by name or number. There are many companies on line that supply older air compressor parts.

Last, look for a used one to cannibalize.
