Husky has strong electrical smell while building up air pressure.

I have the 33 gallon husky compressor and during operation it starts smelling of a electrical issue coming from the motor, I've had it for a while just started using, I've used it three times & it's not getting any better, what would you recommend.

Smelly Husky compressor

Jimmy, I ask because one of the symptoms of an under powered compressor motor is that it heats up and starts to smell.

Use of a too small extension cord is a common reason why a compressor motor overheats.

Another is if the fuse or breaker to the circuit is less than 15 amps, or if there are other devices on the same circuit pulling power at the same time the compressor is.

Is your installation all good as it relates to these electrical supply issues?

Hi Bill, it's a common 110 v outlet, and there is no Extension Cord, just the power cord from the compressor.

Hey Jimmy, tell me about the circuit that's feeding the socket you are plugging your Husky into, and what the length of the extension cord is, please.
