3 gal. 1/3 HP 100 PSI Oilless Pancake Air Compressor overfilling

Alright, so I've had this compressor since about March and today I setup the compressor so I can use my airbrush. I plugged the compressor in and as it filled up the tank, the safety valve opened up and let all the pressure out. I closed the valve, and watched as the pressure build up and at about 90-95 the valve opened up again. Could you please help me out with the problem, I'd really appreciate it since the compressor has been working great until now.

The compressor safety valve opened

If the cut in for the compressor is, say, 90 PSI, and the cut out is 120 PSI for example, and it was working before, and now, the PRV lets go at around 90-95 PSI, I would think that the PRV is suspect.

If you have solvent around, with care, rinse the PRV after removing it from the compressor, and after unplugging it and dumping ALL the air from the tank.

Let the PRV dry thoroughly. Reinstall and test. If it lets go before the normal cut out pressure setting of the pressure switch still, and this were my compressor, I'd replace the PRV.
