2.5hp Iron Air Compressor - Comcerning amount of oil & water when draining tank on new compressor
I have a new 90ltre 2.5hp Iron Air Compressor After : usage the first 3 times = minmal waetr discharge from both the tank & the air filter...Last 2 times = concerning amount of oil amoungst the water.
NB; Last 2 times I ran the compressor at an increased rate = over a 5hr period, but, regular breaks throughout that time, to allow the unit to cool down. I rrealize air sanders are demainding, but I nursed the compressor especially given it's new. Is this normal for a compressor ??

Anthony, all oil-lubed air compressors wick lubricating oil past the piston rings, and ultimately into the air tank.
The more you use the air compressor (the longer it runs) the more the oil will migrate, exacerbated by the heat of the pump when it is run for extended periods of time.
Hotter compressed air (and higher humidity air being drawn in to the intake ) will result in greater levels of water in the tank. This is normal.
Monitor your oil level to make sure the level is correct, drain your tank daily, and unless you are needing to add copious amounts of oil daily to maintain the correct level, it were me, I wouldn't worry about it.
Assuming, as you note, that you are watching to ensure that you are maintaining the proper duty cycle.
Cheers,
