Was running my 1992 xas90dd 185cfm in the middle of running everything just shut down. Compressor will not start. Will crank but not fire off. Both the charging light and oil light come on when I turn the unit on. Does anybody have any idea what sensors would shut the unit down and is there a form out there on how to check them all. Engine oil level is fine. Compressor oil has just been changed And oil level is fine. Please help do not know where to go. Thanks in advance

Glad to hear you figured it out...

Any idea how/why it got stuck?

In any case, thanks for the update.

There is a start solenoid on my xas90dd up by the alternater that controls the fuel injector pumps by a long rod internally in the motor that links all the injection pump together to speed up or to slow it down. The rod was stuck and not moving so freed it up and now it runs fine

If you're Bud or talking about his machine, I doubt the fuel pump would be the cause, because it cut out while running.

As to the question: it's hard to say based on that description, as I don't know how much fuel was in the line or how fast it was cranking. But once it's hooked up, it should at least cough a bit when trying to start - if not, then probably the problem is elsewhere.

If this is a different machine, please start a new thread about *your* machine.

Thanks, and good luck.

Is it possible that if the fuel pump is pumping fuel but not enough fuel would that cause a problem. Does anybody know how much fuel should be plumping out of that pump? Took me quite a bit a time of cranking the engine probably about two minutes to fill the new fuel filter

There's usually pretty good stuff in the manuals - I take it you don't have one?

Anyway, even after it cooled down for some time, no start? You have fuel and air, right?

The oil pressure and coolant temp switches are near the fan end of the engine, wired to a common harness - one is near leave with the crank, the other higher up behind the idler. On the same side, but down under the air-end you'll find the oil temp switch.

How's the start switch feel? They've been known to break...
