185DPQ 60HP SULLAIR (HARD START)

I HAVE A SULLAIR TOW BEHIND COMPRESSOR THAT WHEN COLD SEEMS TO CRANK LONGER THAN NORMAL. I HAVE CHECKED FUEL, AIR, GLOW PLUGS AND EVERYTHING IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER ON THE ENGINE OF THE UNIT. I HAVE EVEN GONE AS FAR AS ISOLATING THE COMPRESSOR FROM THE ENGINE.....ENGINE STARTS WITH NO ISSSUE ONCE LOAD FROM COMPRESSOR IS REMOVED (EVEN IN -30C(-22F)). MY QUESTIONS IS, IS THERE AN UNLOADER OR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT ALLOW THE COMPRESSOR TO LOAD OR START BUILDING AIR PRESSURE RIGHT AWAY? I HAVE ALSO OPENED THE TAPS WHEN STARTING, MADE NO DIFFERENCE.

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

" IS THERE AN UNLOADER OR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT ALLOW THE COMPRESSOR TO LOAD OR START BUILDING AIR PRESSURE RIGHT AWAY?"

I would assume so, something that would unload at idle, like a centrifugal clutch.

I don't see a (free) manual online so don't know what it is.

There is something like sullair.justanswer.com you could try, or spend the 35 or so bucks for a manual.

Let us know what you find out, OK?

And your CAPS key is stuck.
