Speedair compressor is bogging down after it calls for more air.

I have a 1hp 20 gallon Speedair, after twenty years the tank started to leak. I ordered a new tank and swapped the it over. The compressor works fine and fills the tank up to 120psi.

But when the air is used and the pressure drops down to 100psi the motor is tries really hard to refill the tank but it eventually stops turning.

Thank you jim cw149@yahoo.com

Jim, when you replaced the tank and rebuilt the air compressor, did you make sure that the unloader valve is still working?

That's the first thing I would check when an air compressor is reacting as yours is.

Cheers.

When I changed over the motor and Compressor I neglected to square off the motor to the compressor. I re-aligned it and now it works fine. Thank you

The Yamaha generator specs say itputs out 2,800 watts.

1HP = 746 watts

I couldn't locate the HP info of your air compressor to compare the two.

Under powering your air compressor motor will hasten its demise.

Cheers,

Bill
