What maintenance does this compressor require to work well and last?

The best advice I can give is to read and follow the recommendations of your compressor manual.

If you haven't got yours, go to the Compressor Manuals page on this website, where you can download a .pdf copy of it.

Cheers,

Bill

compressor head bolt torque setting

I have to replace the head gasket on a Sear air compressor pump, model # D22629. What is the head bolt torque?

I have heard that it's around 8 ft/lbs but I cannot tell you for certain.

If someone out there has this info from the manual, please post.

Bill

In the event that you don't get a response from someone that has these gaskets available, have you considered visiting an auto parts store and asking for gasket material so you can cut your own.

Make sure to tell them the application, as the gasket material will have to resist heat.

Bill

fix for a Sears compresssor throwing breaker

by ron
(tx)

i have a sear compressor with the same breaker problem.

turns out there is a start run cap on the back side of the motor.

the ears that the screws go through to hold the cap to the motor had broken off preventing the micro switch from allowing the capacitor to engage. i epoxied the ears back on and remounted the cap.

end of problem!!
