Air pressure on air hose - can't get over 30 PSI

I cannot get the pressure out of the tank above 30 pounds. I have tried to turn the adjustment knob and it has no effect whatever. Is there something I am not doing right.

What is the pressure showing on your air tank gauge please, and also, what is the pressure showing on the regulator gauge?

Please post your response as a comment here so I can follow the thread.

Thanks,

Bill

Air pressure on hose

100 pounds on the tank and 30 pounds on the outlet gauge

Try pushing in or pulling out on the regulator handle. Some of them are set up to disconnect by pulling or pushing.

You should see the gauge on the regulator show an increasing or decreasing air pressure as you rotate the handle. This depicts the pressure setting that your downstream application will see.

If pushing, pulling and turning of the regulator handle does not alter the pressure setting on the gauge, you may either have a malfunctioning air gauge, or the regulator itself has failed.

no pressure - intake valve huffing

by Stan Pawlowicz
(Hampden, MA)

3HP, 30gal, Central Pneumatics upright air compressor Mod# 94667. Air blows out of the intake air filter and will not create any pressure in the air tank even when it's empty.

Your compressor symptoms suggest to me that your intake valve(s) has failed, and the pump is pulling air in, and then, instead of sending it down into the tank, the intake valve remains open or broken, and the pump pumps the air right back out again.

Cheers,

Bill

Problem with unloader valve?

by Gary
(Plano, Tx)

I have a CP item#93271 the unloader valve blows air full time. I removed it and can blow thru it. Is it broke or do I have a check valve problem. Also, how to find replacement part?

Gary, have a look at the Check Valve page on this site. It explains how a continuously venting unloader valve may indicate a problem with the check valve.

As to parts, first find out what the problem is. Then, contact the shop that does the warranty repair on compressors for your local CP vendor. They should be able to help you out.

Cheers,

Bill
