kobalt digitech plus will not turn the motor on
I have a kobalt digitech plus 30 gallon air compressor. It will not turn the motor on. It just makes a snapping or popping noise that comes from the control panel
Rich, from the look of the photo I found, this is a case where the compressor designer decided to jazz a the compressor up a little, with some digital controls, trying to make a fairly low cost compressor look sexier to sell more and maybe get a higher price.
I can't hear the sound your compressor is making, yet from what you say, it sounds like an electrical issue... maybe? Arcing in the pressure switch maybe. I really cannot be sure.
I would start by unplugging it, and trying to remove the shroud so you can see what's what.
It wouldn't be too big a job for many folks to strip the compressor of all the "digital" bells and whistles, and go back to a basic pressure switch and regulator. You really do not even need an ON/OFF switch as the pressure switch will shut the compressor down when the tank pressure reaches cut out.
Also, if the tank is not empty, empty it and then try to start the compressor. Any difference?
Kobalt 221495 that I bought yesterday has a missing pressure switch with it's cover(the box like thing that goes over the wiring

Need to know where & how to get one.I don't wana go back to Lowe's because I just bought it as it is.It's not their fault.I went there to replace my old Kobalt that quit working & this was the only one that was left.A manager helped me so much going out of his way to satisfy me plus going down on the price so I don't wana be a pain in the ass by bothering him again.
How to get one?
G, your compressor has the following ratings: 155 PSI max pressure, 6.2 SCFM @ 40 PSI, 5.3 SCFM @ 90 PSI, 1.6 running HP .
From the photo I found on the Lowes website, it looks like your compressor has a pressure switch that toggles the unloader valve via a lever sticking out the side of it.
If that is the case, and these eyes cannot be certain looking at the photo, any pressure switch from any brand with the same interface to the unloader will work.
I suggest you visit another Lowes store in your city to find the model that you have, and double check.
If the pressure switch has an internal unloader, with the unloader line connected into the bottom of it, these, too, are standard pressure switches typically made by Condor, and one picked up at another store will suit.
