3ph motor/control box to single ph.
by: Tim

Found answer from local electrical contractor. He look at the 3ph. starter and said just don't use the third phase L3-T3. But had to replace the 3ph motor with a single ph. So I wired it up and its running OK.
Thanks Tim

The Curtis Compressor / General Electric Motor

A friend of mine moved and gave me an old curtis air compressor and it ran when she turned the switch on in the garage.. it was connected in there garage to an electrical off/on switch and I shut the power off from the breaker and disconnected the wiring and brought it home on my trailer. It is very heavy and it took 3 men to lift it on my trailer. My Question is: The tank when I drained it was full of about a quart of completely clear water. But the plugs were full of rust, and the drain valve was full of rust. So how can I clean up the rust and stuff that is in the tank and have piece of mind that it will not blow up when it is turned on. The tags are hard to read and I removed them and put them under a lighted magnifier light and got most of the information from the metal tags that I could. the First tag is off of the Compressor, and the second tag is off of the G.E. Motor. I also need to know much air the compressor tank holds.
Sincerely, Jerry G.
